Dior Homme's Shanghai Runway Debut

Dior continued its global catwalk tour with a Shanghai-based Dior Homme runway show this past Friday. This is the second time that the maison has paraded their looks in Asia this month, following a Spring 2014 haute couture showing they hosted in Hong Kong on April 10th. However, Dior Homme’s first entrée onto the scene was last Spring, when they ventured outside of Paris for the first time ever to present the collection to a group of VIPs and fashion influencers in Beijing. Why such dedication to the Asian market? Valuable sales for the label, especially for its mens' offerings.

Required Reading: Parsons The New School for Design Releases Its First Book

Nostalgic Parsons designers rubbed elbows among alumni old and new at Milk Studios last night in celebration of the design school’s first book. One would think that all those featured in The School of Fashion: 30 Parsons Designers were star pupils, but Anna Sui wasn’t one of them. Inside the crowded room, the designer confessed to her less-than-scholarly ways. “Being 18 and living in New York City with no parental guidance, I wasn’t a good student,” confessed Sui. But it was a fun time, she admitted.
