Tim Burton’s remake of Dark Shadows, starring Johnny Depp (pictured), hit theaters this past weekend. Last night, Burberry fêted the opening of its flagship store in Taiwan with the launch of Burberry World Live, a multimedia installation inspired by London’s weather. The Olympic Torch wasn’t the only thing to take top honors at last night’s Designs of the Year Awards, given by London’s Design Museum. In the fashion category, Issey Mikaye’s studio and Reality Lab, the designer’s research and development team, won out over a varied group of nominees that included Celine’s Fall ‘11 collection, the Met’s Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition, Sarah Burton’s wedding dress for Kate Middleton, and the London concept boutique LN-CC, designed by Gary Card.

Issey Miyake Scores London Design Museum Award

The latest style award recipient in the fold? Issey Miyake, fold master extraordinaire, nabbed the London Design Museum's Design of the Year accolade in the fashion category for his 132.5 collection last evening. The Japanese designer, in tandem with his research and development team, Reality Lab, eclipsed royal togs - aka Kate Middleton's lacy confection by Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton - for this year's honors.
